Once more I gave Hannah a piece
of apple, and this time, though she
was trembling, she held the apple
until he had taken it from her hand.
She laughed as his lips tickled her
palm.
I had her feed him a few more
pieces of apple, and he just kept
nuzzling her.
“I would like to try something
else, now,” I told Hannah. “Would
you try staying here if I move away?”
“I don’t know. He’s still kind of
scary.”
We stayed there together for a
little while longer, than she agreed to
try it.
“As I move away, just keep
talking gently to him,” I said.
I took Kaylynn, and we moved
