               He didn’t move, other than to lean

       back over the fence.


               Hannah laughed.  “He’s not going

       anywhere as long as he thinks we still


       have apples.”

               I tucked the last two apples deep


       into my pocket.  “Now, go run.”

               He didn’t move, so I pushed him


       again.  “Go run, and I’ll give you

       another apple.”


               I pushed him a couple more times,


       and then, suddenly, he turned and

       headed across the pasture, his tail and


       head high.  He flew along the fence

       line.


               “Wow!” Hannah exclaimed.

               Kaylynn started clapping.


       “Hosey Casmer pritty!”
