“You had me so scared. Since

you left a message at the hotel desk I

have been calling and calling thinking

something was wrong. I even called

the Logan hospital to see if you had

been admitted.”

“Well, you know, Brenda,” I

joked, “an increase in your heart rate

is good for you now and then.”

“Yeah, but a heart attack isn’t. So

tell me how it all went!”

“It went fine. I had them back up

close to the gate, and then the men

left me alone to unload him.”

“They left you to do it alone?

Those useless cowards!”

I laughed. “It’s okay. I think it

turned out better that way.”

“What do you mean?”

I told her the whole story,
