and just shrugged. “I took some taekwondo and
jujitsu classes in college. It saved my life once
when I was attacked by an angry, knife-wielding
constituent.”

Rachel could see John admired Jacob’s
ability in this area, and it concerned her, because
John and David were too caught up with fighting.
Jacob seemed to understand that as well, for he
spoke further.

“You know, John, I studied martial arts only
as a means of defending myself and those I care
about. I would never use it to attack someone
else. A man should never do such a thing.”

Rachel appreciated Jacob’s words. He
