“Oh!” as if it she had just discovered something.
Jacob began to tell the story of Jacob’s
twelve sons and how Joseph was sold into Egypt.
He told all that happened and how Joseph had
stayed true to what he knew was right and how
eventually he was able to save his family. When
he finished, Emily said, “Joseph must have had a
good mommy.”
“Yes,” Jacob answered, “he must have had a
good mommy.”
“What was her name?” Emily asked.
Jacob was quiet for a moment. He looked
down at the floor as he responded. “Her name
was Rachel.”
Emily bounced up and down excitedly.
“Hey, that’s what Gran calls my mom!”
“Isn’t that amazing?” Jacob answered. He
