When I arrived at home, Hannah
was still quite anxious. She had to
hear the whole story. After I had told
her most of it, she asked, “Then is he
really as mean as they say?”
I told her about how the other
men came up while I was brushing
him, and how he acted toward them.
“What if he turns on you
someday?” she said, the anxiousness
telling in her voice.
“That’s the funny thing about it. I
almost feel like he thought they were
bad and he was protecting me from
them. He never wants me to leave.
It’s as if he is attached to me for some
reason.”
“Why?”
I shrugged. “I don’t know.
