side of the road, and they were


       watching us.  This really annoyed me.

       The pasture was on the foothills of


       the mountain on a seldom traveled

       road, and I didn’t think anyone would


       bother us. This was supposed to be

       my moment with Cashmere, free of


       observers, and free of anyone or

       anything else in the world.


               Then another thought hit me.

       What if the people got out of their


       cars and approached the fence?


       Cashmere might rear as he did when

       he saw strangers.  I was also


       concerned about what would happen

       when we reached the gate, because he


       often slid to a very abrupt stop.

               I clamped my legs tighter than I


       ever had, unsure what would happen.

       But Cashmere didn’t show any signs
