we made the turn at the first corner I
looked to see them turn as well as if
they were once more running their
smaller track.
After we made the second turn, I
looked to the road and saw two cars
stopped there with a third pulling in.
How could there be so many? There
was hardly ever a car on this road. I
found myself yelling, “Go away!” but
I could hardly hear myself amongst
Cashmere’s heavy breathing, the
pounding of his hooves, and the wind
rushing by.
When we made the final turn,
Cashmere was breathing so hard I
was concerned, but as we approached
the gate, he still didn’t slow.
“Cashmere,” I yelled, “you’ve got to
stop, or you will kill yourself.”
