family seemed to be highly respected.

Rachel read many articles about Anna’s
family. She tried to tell herself it was just out of
a desire to know, but she couldn’t avoid the
feelings of jealousy that made her hope to find
something that would cause her to dislike Anna.
But she could find nothing.

With her curiosity only mildly satisfied,
Rachel wanted to continue her search, especially
to see if she could find a picture of Jacob’s
family. She felt somewhat embarrassed that she
wanted so desperately to learn about him. He
was married, she reminded herself, and she
needed to get over her feelings for him.

She checked her watch. Emily was getting
restless, having missed her afternoon nap, and the
