Matthew saw him, he scrambled to his feet.
“Sheriff, I want you to arrest this man for assault
and battery.”
The Sheriff turned to Jacob, and gestured
toward Matthew. “Senator, would you like to
have this man arrested for assault and battery?”
“Not me!” Matthew complained angrily,
pointing at Jacob, “Him! Didn’t you see the way
he attacked me, throwing me to the ground?”
“What I saw,” replied the Sheriff, “is you
attacking him, and him defending himself.
Further, it’s a felony to attack a U.S. senator.”
Matthew’s face flamed bright red with
anger. “Stop with the U.S. Senator stuff! Don’t
you know who this is? This is my stupid little
brother, Jacob. He comes in here pretending he
owns the place and is some great senator, and
