      I just wanted to run away, but you can bet that if I

had to stay there, I did plan to keep an eye on that
skunk. Grandma disappeared around the corner of the
garage and came back with a shovel, a rake, some long
broomsticks, and a handful of string. “Now,” Grandma
said, “You run into the kitchen and bring me back a
sharp knife.”

      I slid myself around the edge of the garage,
keeping an eye on the skunk, who was still watching us
suspiciously. By the time I got back with the knife,
Grandma was digging behind the garage in the area
where the boys’ footprints were. Soon she was tired
and handed me the shovel.

      “You keep diggin’. I want it about a foot deep,
three feet wide, and six feet long.”

      That was when I asked her what we were digging,
to which she said, “We are diggin’ someone’s grave.”

      I still didn’t have a clue as to what we were doing,
