them were in my class this

       semester, too. But this semester

there was one girl. Though I knew

       I hadn’t had a class with her, I was

sure I had seen her before.

              Professor Hastings had us

stood, every boy turned to stare

with rapt attention, and all seemed

smitten with her beauty. She had

big brown eyes, and her long

brown hair, tied with a red ribbon,

hung loosely down past her waist.

She was dressed in blue jeans and

       a flower-covered blouse.

“My name is Bonnie,” she said.

“I am from Utah and majoring in

       mathematics.”
