class.
My seven o’clock class was
second-semester calculus.
Professor Hastings had also taught
my first-semester calculus class the
semester before. He was tall and
thin, with dark hair sporting tiny
flecks of gray. He was probably in
his mid to late forties and was a
no-nonsense type of teacher.
Though he was strict, he was
friendly and willing to help
students learn in any way he could.
As I looked around before class
started, there was one thing that I
found to be interesting. My first-
semester calculus class had
consisted of all guys, and most of
