gap on the other side of the trailer,
between it and the fence, but it was
small enough it would be hard for a
horse to squeeze through it. On the
other hand, I could use it as an escape
route if he tried to attack me.
Once I had everything in place, I
went to the front of the trailer and
opened the small door. It was only
meant for a person to reach through
and unhook a horse that might be
tethered there. Because of the door’s
size, I couldn’t see him well. But I
could tell he was big since I couldn’t
see to the top of him from my
position. I was not about to lean
through the door to look at him,
afraid that he might crush me. I
could see the bottom of his head and
