Every weekday I had to be to
school by 6:30 in the morning, and
after teaching, taking classes, and
studying for twelve hours, I would
work much of the evening, barely
earning enough for my family to have
food and a place to live. Then, at
night when I arrived home, I would
often have to study until the early
hours of the morning, getting very
little sleep and having very little time
to spend with my family.
On Saturdays, I would get up and
go to work, and then come home and
study some more. It seemed like a
never-ending, exhausting cycle.
Hannah worked hard, too, trying
to sew our clothes, make all of our
food homemade, and do everything
