watch. He slid to a stop in front of
me, breathing hard. “Show off,” I
said, as I pulled an apple out of my
pocket and broke off a piece for him.
I began working my way along
the fence, stapling up the wire, and
stretching the net fence back into
place where the winter snow had bent
it over.
Soon Cashmere was back by me.
He started nuzzling me again. I tried
to ignore him, so he pushed harder. I
still ignored him, and he pushed me
so hard I lost my balance and landed
on the fence.
“Hey! Watch it!”
He whinnied like he was
laughing.
“Oh, you think that’s funny? Ha,
ha. I’m laughing. Not!”
