               I went back to work and

       continued my way along the fence.


       Soon he joined me again, begging for

       more.


               “Hey!  Do I look like an apple

       tree to you?”


               He nodded his head and

       whinnied.


               “Well, for your information, I’m

       not.”


               I started back to work, trying to


       ignore his persistence.  I pulled the

       wire up tight, put a staple over it, and


       reached for my hammer.  It wasn’t

       there.  I was sure I had set it down


       right next to me.  I looked all around

       me, still trying to keep the wire up in


       place.  Cashmere made a funny

       whinnying sound, and I thought he
