“That’s exactly why you
should go,” she replied. “It’s first-
semester social dance, so you’ll
learn everything, starting from the
beginning. You wouldn’t have to
feel awkward about it anymore.”
I stood there, thinking. I really
wanted to feel less klutzy when it
came to dancing, but I doubted
there was anything to be done
about my awkwardness. My
dancing inadequacy was one of the
big reasons I hardly dated.
“I don’t know,” I slowly said.
“A normal load is fourteen to
sixteen credits, and I’m already
taking sixteen and a half. The half
credit is wrestling, and that takes
three to four hours per day.”
