helpless. I never thought this day
              could go so wrong.

The day started out like most of
my college days. The sun was not
yet even showing any glow over
the ridge of the mountain as I
turned the corner and sprinted the
last fifty yards to my apartment. I
looked at my watch. It wasn’t yet
six o’clock. I had run five miles in
just under thirty minutes. It wasn’t
my best time, but considering I had
changed my route to take in some
fairly steep hills, and I was
bundled up for the January cold, I
didn’t feel too bad about it.
