his chubby-faced baby grin, Justin couldn’t help but love him. Justin cuddled him up in the crook of his arm and took the book in the other hand as Emily leaned against him. “ ‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse; The stockings were hung by the chimney with care In hopes that Saint Nicholas soon would be there...” Soon Justin could hear Emily’s steady breathing and knew she was asleep. Timmy wasn’t quite sleepy yet so Justin kept on reading. He finished the book and carefully set it on the floor so he wouldn’t disturb Emily. Timmy was fascinated by Justin’s headphones and CD player and kept wanting to touch them. Justin turned them on and put them on him. Timmy smiled and listened for a minute then he wanted to pull them off and look at them to see where the sound was coming from. After a while Timmy gave up with the headphones and wanted to reach up and touch Justin’s face and especially grab his nose. Justin enjoyed this cute little boy’s curiosity. He couldn’t remember ever noticing how much fun a baby was. He just laughed at Timmy. It wasn’t long, though, and Timmy’s head started to bob a little. Justin laid him down in his arms and 32
