“klutz” and “clumsy” as I walked
the school halls, always when
people thought I couldn’t hear.
Because of all of this, I dreaded the
dance practice leading up to
Valentine’s Day. I already felt
inept in my social skills when it
came to members of the female
gender, and the thought that my
klutziness would soon push my
popularity rating off the bottom
end of the social scale gripped my
heart with great trepidation. By
this time, I had also grown a
couple more inches.
When the dreaded day arrived,
I thought of staying home from
school. But the dancing was going
to carry on for a whole month.
