sure there was nothing a doctor could


       do other than tell me to immobilize it.

       When I got home, Hannah was very


       concerned.  My whole shoulder was

       black from bruising.  The ice cooled


       the burn I felt in it, and the throbbing

       slowed.  I took a cloth and wrapped


       my arm tightly against me to keep me

       from moving it.


               I used it as little as possible, but

       come Monday morning, I had to


       teach.  The higher I raised it, the more


       it hurt, so I wrote as much as I could

       on the lower half of the chalk board.


       But by the end of the week I was

       beginning to get some more motion in


       it.

               That next Saturday, besides doing


       the regular chores, I also worked on

       fixing the horse sheds for winter.  I
