How Farm Dogs Get Their Names

Have you ever wondered how a
farm dog gets its name? Well, let me
explain it to you.
The other day I went to see a
neighbor, Bart, who is a farmer. As
we sat visiting in his yard, I looked
over to see a beautiful golden
retriever that I hadn’t ever seen there
before.
“New dog?” I asked.
“Not too new,” he replied. “I’ve
had him for about a year.”
“You training him for hunting or
anything useful?” I asked.
“Heck, no. Not unless you count
