Grandma was firing as she ran, spraying the dog’s
backside with pellets. His gasping yowls echoed
through the air as he kept his backside low to the
ground, trying to avoid getting hit in his tender parts
again. He continued yelping down the street. Once he
got beyond Grandma’s gun range, he dragged his
bottom around on the ground in circles before limping
away.

      “And don’t you forget it!” Grandma yelled after
him.

      As I stood there, my eyes bugging out, Grandma
returned. “Wow!” she said. “That felt good!”

      I’m sure I could bet that the dog didn’t think so.
Grandma stood there smiling for a moment. As I stood
there in utter shock, she frowned. “Get back to work!”
