she had just been subjected to. I was dripping green slime out of my mouth, nose, ears, and boots and ... “Oh, no! My cowboy boots! You guys have ruined my cowboy boots!” I yelled. “I hate you! I am never going to speak to you again!” My brothers looked at me solemnly, then Daniel got a mischievous smile and said, “Promises, promises, promises.” They busted out laughing as they stuck me right side up on the cement. “With a bath like that, you won’t have to bathe for a month,” Daniel said. “More like he will have to stay in the bath for a month,” Jason said. “Hey, it’s the Jolly Green Giant.” “Or maybe the Jolly Green Super Cowboy,” Daniel said. That was it. My cowboy boots were ruined. My scarf was ruined. My shirt was slimy and torn, and my hat was still floating in three feet of manure. I started yelling. “You think it’s funny! You just wait until I tell Mom and Dad you stuck me on a wild cow and deliberately tried to kill me!” They did seem scared about that. Before they let me go to the house, they sprayed me down with a hose. They washed out my ears, nose, and mouth, but the horrible taste wouldn’t leave. They did everything they could to calm me and make things look better for them when they had to face our parents. I marched straight to the house. All the way, my boots went, “squish, squish” instead of “clomp, clomp,” making me madder and madder. I banged so hard on the door with my fist that I felt like my hand would break.
