     lap, I had already lapped one
              person.
                      “Johnson,” Coach yelled, “are
              you sure you can hold that pace?”
                      I just nodded, unable to give
              any breath away to speak.
                      By the time I finished, I had
              lapped everyone else more than
              once.  A crowd had gathered to
              cheer me on, and as Coach yelled
              out my time, “Six minutes, thirty
              seconds!”  The crowd erupted into
              a loud cheer.
                      Most of those gathered were
              from the track team, which was
              there working out, too.  As I tried
              to catch my breath, their coach
              came to visit.
