The New Car l Buster came running excitedly into the church where we teenagers had all gathered for our weekly youth activity meeting. “Hey guys, you’ve got to come see my cool new car!” Knowing Buster could get excited about down on a duck, we weren’t quite sure what we would find. When we walked out of the church, there, prominently in front of the main door, sat the oldest Camaro I had ever seen. The back end nearly touched the ground. Through the gap in the trunk, wire could be seen holding it closed, making it obvious that it didn’t latch. The tires showed wire through the tread, and one door had a gap in it, showing it didn’t close properly. We walked all around the car, checking out the details. Truly, in its day, it probably was a great car. I’m sure Buster kept hoping we’d ask for a ride, but since no one did, he finally broached the subject. “Wouldn’t you guys like a ride?” 24
