When I finished
with all of the hay for
the week, we made
sure there was good
bedding in each of the
small horse barns
attached to the three
corrals. I was cautious as I put straw
in Dader’s barn, but he acted like I
didn’t even exist and like nothing had
ever happened before.
When that was all done, Brenda
took me out to a pasture on the
northeast side of town, near the
mountains. There were a few mares
and an old gelding grazing there.
“These are mine, too,” Brenda
said. “They should be fine until we
get more snow; then you will need to
start bringing hay out here. Also,
