answered. “She had him shipped
here. She said she’d tell me more
about him when she comes, but she
hasn’t been here since then.”
“You ought to see if you could
enter him in some races,” the first
man said.
“That wouldn’t be up to me,” I
replied. “That would be up to
Brenda. But I doubt he would be
allowed to race with the injuries he
has had.”
“What injuries?” the man
inquired.
“It looks to me like his front
knees have been broken and haven’t
healed properly,” I told them.
They all strained to see, and one
of them said, “Oh, yes, I see what you
mean.”
