of stories in my day, but that one takes
the cake.”
I knew it was useless to try to
convince them otherwise, but I also
knew, somewhere, there was a little old
lady that was safe, and my new wife
knew and loved me for it. That’s all
that mattered, because, at least for a
brief moment in time, I was a perfect
stranger.
