she had wondered about. Half of the room had
an oak floor with a beautiful banquet table. The
other half was carpeted. It had a huge fireplace
along one wall, and a big screen television above
the fireplace had a football game playing on it.
There was a coffee table loaded with bowls of
candy. But what was most incredible was the
breathtaking view of the lake and the valley.

      The floor was littered with wrapping paper,
but Anna didn’t seem at all ruffled about the
mess. In the middle of the floor, James was
teaching Emily how to run the toy train that ran
on tracks snaking through the room.

      Anna led Rachel to a comfortable chair and
Jacob did the same with his mother. Anna patted
Rachel’s arm. “Now, you make yourself at home
while Jacob and I put dinner on. If you don’t like
