He didn’t need any more
invitation. He turned and flew across
the pasture, his head high and his tail
arched. He was the essence of
majesty as he covered the distance to
the far side of the pasture.
The other horses turned to chase
him, but they weren’t even half way
across the pasture by the time he
reached the far side. About then they
gave up and quit the chase. He
turned and headed down the far fence
line. His speed continued to amaze
me. Somehow, just watching him, it
was as if I was on his back, the air
flowing through my hair, his muscles
and hooves pounding underneath me.
Watching him gave me a feeling I
couldn’t understand.
I didn’t even think to scramble
