     knew all along that the whole team would join in the     extra conditioning program.  Sam was sure the coach     had planned on it.            Paul made sure everyone held to their promise.     The few who missed would find him on their doorstep     the next morning to pick them up.  A person missed     only once because the team would haul them to school     in their pajamas if they had to, only allowing them to     grab some clothes to change into on the way out the     door.            Sam found himself enjoying the early morning     practices and the lunch-hour weight lifting.  As he ran     the mile to school the sun would be just coming up in     the east.  Usually there was a small bank of clouds that     reflected the early morning light, causing a glow in the     sky.  The air was always crisp and clean and it made     him feel alive and vibrant.  Sometimes leaves would     blow out of yards, racing him down the street.  He found     the stillness of the morning to be a great time to think.
