So, the cultures of China match the story of the Jaredites, and the
land matches the description. There is something else that was interesting
to me. If the Jaredites were to launch into the Pacific Ocean starting at the
China Sea, their boats that were built like a dish had no sails. So even
though it says the Lord blew them continually toward the promised land,
they would still be very much at the mercy of the ocean current.
I studied the Pacific oceanic currents while reading about Thor
Heyerdahl’s travel across the Pacific on the Kontiki. Figure 23 shows a
map of the North Pacific Gyre, the ocean currents of the North Pacific.
