Chapter 3 l Justin’s Turn Justin came into the Center listening to one of his favorite rock groups on his headphones. He was humming and dancing to the music when he caught sight of Judge Jensen. When she knew she had his attention she pointed to her watch and pointed to the sign in sheet. Justin rolled his eyes and signed in. He was just about to get up when Judge Jensen cleared her throat loud enough he could hear even with his headphones on. He looked at her and she pointed to his headphones. Justin scowled but shut off the music and pulled the headphones off his ears and down around his neck. He then went over and dropped into a chair near where Emily was playing. “Well, kid. I guess you’ve got to put up with me tonight. Or vice versa.” “Is that your name?” Emily asked. Justin looked at her as if she had stopped in to visit from another planet. “What?” “Vice Versa. Is that your name?” “No. Of course not.” 24
