“The fact that you don’t come
in here feeling that you own the
dance world. Too many young
people come in thinking they’re
prima donnas and they know
everything. They’re impossible to
teach. Often, I have to work with
them to unlearn what they do
wrong, if I can convince them to
listen to me at all. With you, I
would be working from point one.”
“Point one?” I asked.
“Yes, from scratch.” He
looked at me a second, and then
chuckled slightly. “Actually, with
how you danced yesterday, maybe
it would be point zero, unless, of
course, there is a negative number
