make the trip later. As he sat down to

use the facilities, he noticed a sign

posted on the bathroom door,

impossible for the captive audience to

miss.

“You are in bear country. Make

plenty of noise when you go into the

woods. If you are moving around the

campsite at night, especially coming

to or from the outhouse, make lots of

noise to avoid surprising any bears.”

Rick had been camping a lot, and

he knew that surprised bears are not

friendly bears. He returned to camp

still thinking about the interesting

sign.
