another one arrived, Phil grinned at me. “You

think the last line was good, just listen to this

one, and watch the master at work.”

Phil approached the girl and smiled. “So,

hey, is it hot in here, or is it just you?”

I tried not to roll my eyes as the girl

giggled. After visiting a while, she left, and

Phil returned with her phone number.

“Did I tell you I was the master, or what?”

He sat down and looked at his book for about

thirty seconds before glancing at his watch.

“Hey! We’ve been studying for almost 40

minutes. Isn’t it time for a break?”

I just sighed. “Phil, you haven’t studied

for 40 seconds.”

But he was paying me no attention
