When we got to Scrooge’s home, Celese


     looked up at me.  “Daddy, this couldn’t be


     Santa’s house.  There are no Christmas


     decorations.”


             I just smiled and said maybe Santa was too


     busy to decorate.  “Or,” she considered, “maybe


     he isn’t home yet from delivering presents.”


             We did see the old man standing in the


     window, and my girls waved.  He smiled and


     waved back.


             That night I took them in their wagon


     around to see the Christmas lights.  When we


     passed Scrooge’s house, we stopped.  There


     was an old wreath on the door and an ancient


     set of lights glowing along the porch.  Celese


     smiled.  “Oh, look, Daddy.  Santa must have
