great car. I’m sure Buster kept hoping we’d ask
for a ride, but since no one did, he finally
broached the subject. “Wouldn’t you guys like
a ride?”
“I’m not sure,” Lenny replied. “Is it safe?”
“Oh, aren’t you the funny one tonight,”
Buster said.
“I was being serious!” Lenny retorted.
I leaned on the car and let off. It bounced
like a yo-yo. “Are you sure it will handle all of
us?” I asked. “It appears that the shocks are
bad.”
“I’m sure,” Buster answered confidently.
“The guy at the car store told me it was in top
notch shape.”
Lenny leaned over to me and whispered.
“And Buster was wearing a sign that said
‘sucker’, too.”
